General information about this site

The aim of this site is to present the historical facts about the Royal House of Portugal after the death of the last King of Portugal, HM Dom Manuell II. The documents shown here are genuine, unedited scans, and are only a small part of those kept in the archives of the Royal House. However, more documents will be added, as evaluation and research is a never-ending process.

Everybody interested in the History of the Royal House of Portugal is encouraged to evaluate the information provided, and to download the images of the documents. All of the files are copyrighted, but royalty free for anybody who wishes to use them. We kindly ask you to inform us by means of an e-mail of your intention and the purpose of use of the documents. An approval is granted for all lawful applications. The restriction applies only to the Coat of Arms and the Monarchic Anthem files, which may under no circumstances be used without written consent.

For professionals, such as historians, journalists, and similar, in need of higher resolution images for printing purposes, we are ready to provide them, but this service is subject to approval.

Any comment and opinion about this site, its contents and the information provided, are welcome here.

We do understand that some of the files will download slowly, but this is a price to pay if the quality of the presentation is to be kept at a certain level.
